I’m so blessed to know & be married to the love of my life & my best friend.
Today is her birthday.
I still remember the first time I laid eyes on her. It was one of the first days of school at Lipscomb University, fall of 1997. I had just come down from the 8th floor of High Rise to go to my first class. I stepped off the elevator & was walking into the lobby towards the main door. She was working at the front desk. As soon as I stepped outside the door with my roommate I looked at him & said, “I’ve got to meet that a girl.” This was before the days of Facebook & twitter. So i had to literally stalk her with no virtual means at my disposal until I got up the courage to introduce myself.
I’m so thankful we got to meet on that Wednesday night on the steps of Alumni. I still remember what she was wearing. Her smile. And how excited I was that we got to talk. All these years later she’s still the one for me. She’s still the one I love to talk to, make smile & do life with. God has been so gracious to me to share her with me.
I’m so thankful for you Alisha. You are a wonderful mother, a gifted teacher & a rockstar wife!
I love this picture of us taken by my good friend Jason Mundie. I hope you’ll always be by my side. So today on your birthday, I just want you to know I love you & I’m thankful for you. Happy Birthday!
