How do we build the life we build?
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. – Colossians 2.6-7
Here’s what I’ve come to believe. We are all builders.
We are all building a life. How we build the life we build, that’s up to us.
We get to decide where to lay the next brick, where to place the next stone. We get to choose what blueprints we want to follow.
Each day we make decisions that determine the kind of people we will one day become.
This song entitled “Build My Life” by Pat Barrett is a great expression of this incredible truth, that there is no better foundation for us to build the entirety of our lives on that Jesus.
